Pin connections with crimp ring Lockbolt
The technology of joining materials using pin joints of increased strength is used to fasten materials subjected to high loads to failure and to the cut. The installation of this fastener requires two-sided access to the materials to be bonded. The most significant advantages of this connection are: simple installation, high strength, tightness of the connection, minimum space requirements outside the connected materials. This connecting element finds the greatest application in the automotive industry and in the production of containers.
This fastening system is a pin with a transverse arrangement of notches and a crimping ring. With a special tool (pneumohydraulic or hydraulic depending on the model and pin diameter), the ring is crimped on the pin and a high-strength joint is created, capable of withstanding high loads. So in the case of using a steel pin with a diameter of 9.6 / 10.0 mm, the shear strength of the joint is 30359 N, and a break of 28913 N. During the installation, a reliable, durable sealed safe connection is formed, capable of withstanding colossal loads.
Installation of the pin connections with the Lockbolt crimping ring is carried out with a special mounting tool, riveter. The quality of the connection depends not only on the quality of the hardware used, but also on the tool used, its proper setting and connection.
